Why do people turn green when they feel ill?

Why do people turn green i.e. have a green complexion when they feel ill particularly when they are sea-sick?
Nigel Barraclough from Surrey (Age 45-54)

One Response

  1. People appear to turn a greeny colour when they are ill because their skin turns a lighter shade, and reflecting greener light from it. The skin does not actually change pigment.
