Most fish keep their body temperature at or close to the surrounding environment, some such as ice fish whilst having no haemaglobin to transport oxygen ( oxygen concentrations increase with a decrease in water temperature), and possessing a glycoprotien that acts in the same way as antifreeze, can have body temperatures of – 2 celcius.

    Some fish such as the billfish which dives to great depths uses a specialy adapted ocular muscle to keep its’ brain warm, but is otherwise at the same temperature as the surrounding envisonment.
