Is this how to fight cancer?

I have noticed many articles in the news claiming to have found chemicals in certain foods that can help fight against cancer – for example allicin in garlic. Therefore can’t we just combine all these cancer fighting chemicals to make a drug that could hopefully inhibit the growth or cure cancer?
