  1. bogies or snot are medically known as ‘nasal mucus’

    It is made by special cells in your nose and acts to protect your lungs by trapping any small particles such as dust or pollen as you breathe in before they reach the lungs.

    Humans make this mucus all the time and you swallow most of it without realising.
