Is God consciousness?

Is God consciousness?
Peter Lihou from Channel Islands (Aged 55+)

One Response

  1. Consciousness ,to me, is that thing which recognises that :-
“I think, therefore I am” (with due deference to Descartes)”
It is what I think of as “me”.
The individual consciousness, which seems to be me, holds within it a belief that:-
” God is an unnecessary hypothesis” .
This would seem to put my particular consciousness in an awkward position if indeed it were God. I suspect therefore that God is not consciousnes and nor is consciousness God.
Knutsford SciBAr will be having a discussion on Consciousness (led by Prof John Jeffries of Birmingham University) on the 7th of July 2008. All are welcome -see website
